August is the Best Time for a Visit to San Francisco's Beaches

Near the end of summer, the city is feeling back to normal following the pandemic, and temperatures in the Bay begin to warm up. Expect an average low of 55°F and average high of 68°F. August in San Francisco is also known as the best month to swim in the sea, with the highest sea temperature out of the entire year.

Bay Area Latin Jazz Festival

The third annual Bay Area Latin Jazz Festival is back with spice, vibrance, and fun. Get ready to dance the day away as the fest will feature live Latin Jazz music performances from Afro-Caribbean and Latin American artists. This year's headliner is Peurto Rican artist Luis González Y Su Orquesta. You'll get to further experience authentic Latin culture through food, beverage, and art vendors. Tickets will be available online to purchase soon.

As the name suggests, the Festa Coloniale Italiana comes with wine tasting, Italian cuisine, famous vendors, live music & performances, and family-friendly stage comedy, available to all ages. To be held at Stockton Street, participants will enjoy authentic Italian live music with the Ricca Italian Dancers.

Aloha Poly Fest

Join in the Famous 10th annual Polynesian Aloha Festival for fun, live performances, craft booths, food vendors, cultural dances, and traditional yet cultural demonstrations. There is also a children’s area, and it’s free and available to all ages.

Brick Fest Live

Brick Fest Live

LEGO lovers will be in awe at Brick Fest Live. An event that travels across the country, this is an exhibition that features hundreds of incredibly vibrant and intricate life-sized LEGO statues, numerous hands-on activities kids will love, and plenty of educational experiences. Children can build their own LEGO sculptures and let their creativity flow while observing sculptures that will inspire and wow them. Tickets ranging from $25 to $50 can be purchase online, and additional parking fees may be charged upon arrival. 

Pistahan Parade and Festival

Pistahan Parade and Festival

The Pistahan Parade and Festival starts with a mesmerizing yet colorful parade at the Civic Centre. The Parade ends at the Yerba Buena Garden. In addition, the parade often features Filipino art, music, dance, food, and beverages. It’s free and available to all ages.

Hamilton

Learn all about Alexander Hamilton and U.S. history while enjoying some cool hip-hop tunes through Lin Manuel Miranda's musical genius. Hamilton, the popular Broadway musical, is one of the biggest shows happening this month, so get your tickets while you can. 

Stern Grove Festival

Stern Grove Festival

San Francisco's original free outdoor festival, Stern Grove Festival, will celebrate its 85th anniversary this year. To support the festival's mission of making live music experiences accessible to all, it will feature ten free concerts from rising and famous artists. There will also be over 30 admission-free art education programs. Additional details on this year's festival will be announced in the spring; this information will be available online.

With over 25 food trucks, a full-service bar, fun lawn games, and even yoga, the Presidio Picnic has something for everyone. Just make sure to bring a blanket to camp out on!
