San Francisco Offers Ways to Explore Outdoors this Summer as the City Comes Back to Life

The state of California officially reopened in June, so the city is buzzing with excitement. Summer in San Francisco stays relatively mild, ranging between the mid-50s to high 60s. The notorious summer fog continues through this month, mainly being in the mornings and evenings, so still a perfect month for those wanting to enjoy outdoor events and fun.

Mosswood Meltdown

The Mosswood Meltdown, formerly known as the Burger Boogaloo, is an annual music festival hosted at the sunny Mosswood Park in Oakland, California. Hosted by filmmaker John Waters, this festival features several alternative, indie, and rock artists including Bikini Kill, Plastic Bertrand, Carbonas, and more. One-day tickets start at $99 while weekend passes begin at $149 with a price of $249 for VIP options. Fourth of July Pub Crawl

No better way to celebrate Independence Day than by bouncing around different bars offering special deals and prices. Organizers have expressed that too many people are expected to follow a  specific bar-hopping schedule. After checking in for a wristband at Mayes, they encourage you to just follow the crowd at your own pace. Specials will be available at 6 bars included in the celebration. Vive La Revolucion!  Celebrate the Storming of the Bastille right here in San Francisco at the Bastille Day Festival with wine and delicious food.  When you can't eat anymore, admire vintage vehicles at the car show, watch a Petanque tournament, or the hilarious Course de Garcons de Cafe.  Considering Paris is San Francisco's sister city, it's only right that everyone embrace their honorary French blood for a day.

San Francisco Marathon

Containing every race distance from 5K to a full marathon, the San Francisco Marathon challenges participants to run to and from the Embarcadero in a loop that crosses the infamous Golden Gate Bridge.  In the 45 years since it began, participation has gone from less than 900 people to over 21,000 people.  Whether you choose to run or just turn out to cheer on others, the day is an impressive feat of fitness that you'll want to see.
