In May, San Francisco weather stays relatively mild and cool with low humidity. Nearing the beginning of summer, temperatures reach low to mid-60s. Be aware that this is the time of year when the famous San Francisco fog starts to roll in, causing it to still be pretty misty. However, don't let that stop you from exploring the awesome sites and activities that the city has to offer. Tiburon Wine Festival comes with a lot of fun activities, unique beer crafts, live music, local restraints, and around 60 wineries – all this available along with a beautiful bay view. Tiburon Wine Festival is one of the best Bay View’s event presenting over 20 local restaurants and 60 wineries. Moreover, the live music performances add much value to mid-60s wine tastings. Located in Embarcadero, the Ferry Building Marketplace is known as a stunning piece of architecture and hosts an array of artisan food and niche shops. Stop by Blue Bottle for a delicious latté, then make your way to Hog Island Oyster Company for fresh oysters. The indoor marketplace is the perfect place to explore with friends, family or colleagues!

Visit one of the most notorious abandoned prisons in American history. Alcatraz was home to some of the most dangerous inmates in the country, including Al “Scarface” Capone and Robert Stroud “Birdman of Alcatraz.” The Prison was known for being escape-proof during its 29 years of operation. The island is accessible by ferry from Fisherman’s Wharf. Purchase ferry and tour tickets through Alcatraz Cruises which start at $38.35 for adults. Be sure to book in advance as tickets often sell out!
