The Paper Kites

Good news for cherry blossom enthusiasts: you don't have to fly to Japan to see these beautiful trees in bloom. From March 7th to March 10th, the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego, California, will be hosting a vibrant Cherry Blossom Festival. Visitors can enjoy a stunning array of cherry blossoms, a cosplay contest, local crafters, live music, and much more. The garden hours are from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the last admission at 5:00 PM. Ticket prices range from $12 to $14​​​​​.

Currently ranked #20 on DJ Mag's annual Top 100 DJs, Romero is known for his viral hit "Toulouse." He has also collaborated with many popular fellow DJs and is famous for his electric remixes that will make you want to hit the dance floor. Tickets are on sale now for this epic show at Nova, one of San Diego's hottest nightclubs.

Join America’s sweetest race: The 2024 Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k and 5k. This year, all runners will receive an official Finisher mug, and you can get your chocolate fix along the way at the many sweet stations posted along the course. The 28th Annual ShamROCK is an Irish celebration in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter district featuring top Irish and Celtic Rock bands, tribute performances, Irish dancers, traditional food and drinks, and activities such as "Shenanigan Showdowns." You'll also get a chance to win some prizes and participate in games and contests to show off your leprechaun skills. The event has a lively and festive atmosphere and encourages attendees to dress in green. There will also be photo booths, selfie stations, seven bars, and three stages for serious fun. Tickets range from $39 to $89 on the event's website.

The Barks and Brews Festival is a fun annual event at San Diego's Waterfront Park featuring pet and retail vendors, local breweries, craft beer tastings, and some of the city's best food. Dogs can run and play in designated unleashed areas and compete in contests for the most talented and best-dressed (St. Patrick's Day theme). The event also includes unique human and dog-friendly activities, live music, and stunning views of San Diego Bay. Tickets range from $20 for general admission to $30 and $40 for beer and seltzer tasting options. Beer, wine, and liquor are also available for purchase.

The Uncorked Wine Festival is back in San Diego for its 8th year on Saturday, March 30th, at Spanish Landing Park. Enjoy over 100 wines and bubblies from around the world, plus some unique beverages, a DJ, a photo booth, and local food trucks. Two ticket options are available; Early Admission ($80) with an extra hour of tasting and bonus wine selections or General Admission ($65). The event ends at 5 pm, and all proceeds benefit local nonprofit Urban Surf 4 Kids. Only those 21 and over can attend.

The irony is that the botanical garden was unintentional, the company is a commercial grower of Giant Ranunculus bulbs, and the flowers the bulbs produce just happen to be breath-taking. Make sure you drive by or visit the popular spring attraction.
