Stay Cool with Indoor Events as the Phoenix-Scottsdale Area Returns to Normal

Although June is technically the hottest month of the year in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area, July is still pretty scorching, with temperatures hovering around 106 degrees. Luckily, the city has been completely reopen post-COVID since March, so expect the month's calendar to events include lots of indoor fun to stay cool.

Always...Patsy Cline

This musical tells the true story of music legend Patsy Cline's companionship with Louise Seger. It's a heartwarming story of two close friends that serves as a tribute to Patsy's beloved legacy. The musical includes several of Patsy's biggest hits including "Crazy" and "Sweet Dreams," in addition to lots of laughs. Tickets to the play, located at the Hormel Theatre at the Phoenix Theatre, can be purchased online.

Scottsdale 4th of July Celebration

Celebrate Independence Day at the 9th annual Scottsdale Fourth of July Celebration. It will feature the largest fireworks display in Scottsdale history; it will be displayed against the beautiful McDowell Mountains and will start at 9 pm. Purchase of a VIP Barbeque ticket will include exclusive live performances, a BBQ buffet-style menu, exclusive firework seats, a "Snow Day in July" for kids to keep cool, parking, and more. General Admission parking is $21. Additional ticket options for parking and VIP packages will be available for purchase online. Note that the WestWorld main entrance will be closed; vehicle access points are at 94th Street off Bell Road and Bahia off the Frontage Road.

Celebrate Independence Day under some of the most spectacular displays of fireworks at the Phoenix Raceway. The Avondale Light Up The Sky is held annually on the fourth of July. General admission tickets allow access to a boisterous tailgate outside of the Phoenix Raceway stadium, with access to an array of cuisines from local food trucks, a crafty Kids Zone, and live music. With VIP tickets, guests enjoy exclusive access to food vendors, games, and a DJ. Stay tuned for more information and tickets.

Mad Monster Party Arizona

Mad Monster Party Arizona

Celebrate all things creepy and horrific at the annual Mad Monster Party. The 3-day party will feature Q&As and photo-ops with celebrity guests, vendors, Scaraoke ("scary"-themed karaoke), and a cash-prize costume contest. This year's special guests include Curtis Armstrong, Neve Campbell, Nick Castle, and more. Single-day general admission passes range from $40-$50, 3-day general admission passes are $90, and 3-day VIP passes are $199. Admission is free for kids under 12, accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available online and will also be available at the door; only cash payments will be accepted for admission at the door.

On Your Feet

The rhythm is gonna get you at On Your Feet, a stageplay about the love affair between Latin pop superstars Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan and their rise to celebrity.  The salsa-heavy Broadway hit show is not only a beautiful story but also fun and sensual.  Tickets start at $35.

Real Wild & Woody Beer Festival

Nothing like a cold brew to cool you off during the scorching month of July. Real Wild & Woody is Arizona’s #1 beer festival! Presented by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, the festival will feature rare, unique, and unconventional brews. Dozens of brewers and vendors will have samples and snacks. Lake Pleasant Fireworks

Celebrate Independence Day with an explosive fireworks show at Lake Pleasant.  In the early evening, enjoy bounce houses, games, waterslides, and local handicraft booths, as well as a live performance from local band Outside The Line.  After you're exhausted from the fun, settle in on the lawn and watch the gorgeous fireworks boom over the harbor in a stunning show.
