On June 11th, runners in Atlanta can lace up their sneakers and prepare for three invigorating races: the HOTLANTA Half Marathon, Relay, and 5K. Learn about these amazing winged insects and their role in the ecosystem at the 25th Annual Flying Colors Butterfly Festival. Experts will be offering talks on a variety of topics, from migration to pollination, and you can even get up close and personal with the nature center's butterflies in a special encounter. Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest
This summer festival promises to be the ultimate celebration for Atlanta beer lovers. A mix of local and regional craft breweries will showcase their finest creations. Brew Moon Fest will host top local and national acts and food tents from some of the best eateries in town. Tables and chairs can be purchased but many people bring their chairs to the event. The hours of operation are from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and the event will commence rain or shine.
Atlanta Fringe Festival
The Atlanta Fringe Festival, a celebration of independent theater and performance art, is set to grace the city from June 3rd to June 9th. Enthusiasts of unconventional artistic expressions will revel in an array of eclectic works mounted by fearless artists from diverse backgrounds. Les Misérables
"Les Misérables" is one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history, Based on Victor Hugo' s novel, the story is set in 19th-century France against a backdrop of societal turmoil and the pending June Rebellion in Paris. Claude-Michel Schönberg's iconic score includes crowd favorites like "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own" and "Do You Hear the People Sing?" with a colorful array of costumes and set pieces. 20,000 Beers Under the Sea
The Georgia Aquarium is back for its third annual 20,000 Beers Under the Sea. Soak up the ambiance of jellyish swimming overhead and close encounters with several species of sharks while you enjoy beverages and a Wolfgang Puck buffet. There will be a live music performance from two DJs yet to be announced. Tickets are $75 for members and $85 for non-members.
Family Food Fest
Dig into exotic cuisine from around the world at Family Food Fest. Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival
Celebrate Juneteenth at the 12th annual Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival. Help commemorate over 400 years of African American freedom from slavery during this 3-day celebration. Summer Beer Festival
The Summer Beer Festival will celebrate its eighty anniversary at the Historic 4th Ward Park with about 200 beers from famous countrywide breweries and special local Atlanta breweries.
