From lively festivals to its rich history, Atlanta offers something special for everyone of all ages, and that’s especially true for January. Expect mid-50s temperatures and a wide array of theatrical plays, comedy shows, and 5K races. The Chinese New Year celebration in Chinatown Mall is also a must, as well as cask ale tastings and the boat show in mid-January. World of Illumination - Reindeer Road

Immerse yourself in the magic and wonder of Reindeer Road, where Santa, snowmen, and plenty of elves will treat you with a vibrant drive-through light show. Feast your eyes and ears on two million animated lights and synchronized music as you drive through one mile of transitional terrain, which includes glacial peaks, forests, ice caves, and mountainous terrain. Tickets start at $39.99, and the event occurs every evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM until January 1, 2023. So hop in your car to experience this magical light show and Santa's Workshop.

Shen Yun Performing Arts

Relive ancient China through vibrant costumes and classical dance performances with an immersive Shen Yun stage production. Held at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, Shen Yun offers breathtaking music and gorgeous backdrops that pays homage to various aspects of China. The show is also great for everyone of all ages. Showtimes will be either 2:00 PM or 7:30 PM, depending on the day you attend. Formal attire is encouraged. So if you're a fan of China and seamless dance sequences, book your tickets soon.

Champagne Campaign - New Year's Eve

If you're campaigning for champagne on New Year's Eve, look no further than the Westside Cultural Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where a complimentary champagne bottle, party favors, and lots of fantastic music await you. Arrive with a semi-formal or formal outfit, get your coat checked, and dance until midnight, when a champagne toast, a balloon drop, and confetti will ring in the new 2023 year. And don't forget to capture the moment at the complimentary photo booth. The party will go from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with tickets ranging from $50 for early birds to $75 for early bird express entry.

Hadestown

Hadestown is a musical that surrounds the romantic, mystical story of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice and King Hades and his wife Persephone. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, and held in Atlanta Fabulous Fox Theatre, this is a show that you won't want to miss. Atlanta Boat Show

The Atlanta Boat Show is an annual event that showcases the latest and greatest in boating technology and accessories. With a wide variety of boats on display, including sailing boats, fishing boats, and kayaks, attendees can find the perfect vessel for their needs. In addition to the boats, the show features seminars and demonstrations from experts in the field, covering topics such as sailing, fishing, and DIY boat repairs. The Fred's Shed How-To Center is a prime example, offering tips and advice for those looking to brush up on their boat maintenance skills. $17 tickets are currently available for purchase.

The Red Alert Brunch & Day Party

Soros Keshia Walker & Keya Grant + Insights Marketing have teamed up to bring you The Red Alert Brunch & Day Party. Start your weekend off right with a unique culinary experience and live music by Clinton (The One Man Band) and DJ E Clazz & PNut. Brunch starts at 2:00 pm, and the day party goes on until 8:00 pm. Tickets range from advanced to VIP sections and tables.

MLK Day 5K Drum Run

MLK Day 5K Drum Run

Raise money for civil rights- and black-focused non-profit organizations in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in the MLK Day 5k Drum Run. Run 3.1 miles to the rhythmic beat of a drumline, followed by a celebration to promote the sense of community that MLK always fought for. Cask Ale Festival

Several US and UK craft brewers will be joining the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting to fulfill the cravings of Atlanta’s beverage enthusiasts. To be held at 5 Seasons Brewing WESTSIDE, the participants will taste 55 cask-conditioned ales from famous local and international craft brewers. Due to COVID-19, this event is delayed to 2023.

Days of Dead

Days of Dead

Days of Dead is where the horror comes to the party. To be held at Atlanta Sheraton, the Days of Dead features films, dramas, panels, live party signings, and several contests. Spend quality time with your friends & family. Most importantly, kids under 10 are free! Get tickets here! 

Riverdance

Experience a reimagined version of Riverdance, a beloved show celebrated for its Grammy award-winning score and energetic Irish and international dance themes. This updated production also features a re-recorded soundtrack by composer Bill Whelan and new costume and projection designs. In addition to the main performance, a separate pass to the Marquee Club is available, which includes exclusive early entry, food and drinks, private restrooms, and the option to purchase premium beverages.
