From lively festivals to its rich history, Atlanta offers something special for everyone of all ages, and that’s especially true for January. Expect mid-50s temperatures and a wide array of theatrical plays, comedy shows, and 5K races. The Chinese New Year celebration in Chinatown Mall is also a must, as well as cask ale tastings and the boat show in mid-January. Champagne Campaign - New Year\'s Eve

Celebrate the New Year with some bubbly at Atlanta's Westside Cultural Arts Center. The venue's popular New Year's Eve Champagne Campaign Event includes a complimentary bottle of celebratory champagne, party favors, and fantastic music. Arrive with a semi-formal or formal outfit, get your coat checked, and dance until midnight, when a champagne toast, a balloon drop, and confetti will ring in 2024. And don't forget to capture the moment at the complimentary photo booth. Hookah will also be available. The party will go from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with tickets ranging from $40 (early bird) to $80 (express entry).

The Atlanta Boat Show is an annual event that showcases the latest and greatest in boating technology and accessories. With a wide variety of boats on display, including sailing boats, fishing boats, and kayaks, attendees can find the perfect vessel for their needs. In addition to the boats, the show features seminars and demonstrations from experts in the field, covering topics such as sailing, fishing, and DIY boat repairs.

Online adult general admission tickets are $15 and are valid for one day only. Admission for children 12 and under is free when accompanied by an adult. Show hours are Thursday, January 11 through Friday, January 12, 11 AM-8 PM; Saturday, January 13, 10 AM-8 PM; and Sunday, January 14, 10 AM-5 PM.

MLK Day 5K Drum Run

MLK Day 5K Drum Run

Raise money for civil rights- and black-focused non-profit organizations in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by participating in the MLK Day 5k Drum Run. Run 3.1 miles to the rhythmic beat of a drumline, followed by a celebration to promote the sense of community that MLK always fought for. Sign up on the official website and support the Atlanta community.

Cask Ale Festival

Cask Ale Festival

Several US and UK craft brewers will be joining the 18th Annual Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting to fulfill the cravings of Atlanta’s beverage enthusiasts. To be held at Bold Monk Brewing Company, the participants will taste 55 cask-conditioned ales from famous local and international craft brewers. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at 1737 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase at $48.00 each.

Horror comes to the party at the Atlanta Sheraton for the Days of Dead three-day event. This year, the much-anticipated Horror Con and Tattoo Expo features films, celebrity panels, live party signings, contests, memorabilia, autographs, and more. 

Tickets are available for discounted pre-sale and can also be purchased at the door. VIP packages and Weekend Passes are available. Free admission for kids under 12, active military, and veterans. Show hours vary.

America's Founding Fathers come to life on stage in "Hamilton," a groundbreaking musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The stage production incorporates rap, hip-hop, comedy and a multi-cultural cast, putting a new spin on U.S. history. The story follows the life of Alexander Hamilton, from an orphaned immigrant to a key architect of the new nation with political battles, personal struggles and scandals. Hamilton was won over audiences throughout the world, along with numerous awards, including Pulitzer Prizes and Tonys.
