With the city starting to light up for the holiday season, November is a perfect month to visit New Orleans. Many restaurants even have Thanksgiving deals and specials. Fall festival season is still in full swing with annual favorites like the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival, along with lots of other cool events to experience like Fête des Fromages and Bayou Bacchanal, the city’s version of Caribbean Carnival.

34th New Orleans Film Festival

If you live and breathe films, then the New Orleans Film Festival may be your favorite event of the year. Join fellow film enthusiasts November 2nd to November 12th for in-person and virtual cinema as you watch over 127 films, ranging from documentaries to short films and everything in between. Check back soon for the NOFF 2023 full lineup, schedule, and information on this year’s parties and receptions. New Orleans Film Society members receive discounted or FREE passes. For the general public, passes range from $60 - $350.

Bayou Bacchanal Carnival

Bayou Bacchanal Carnival

Don’t miss your chance to celebrate the original carnival celebration of NOLA with the 21st Bayou Bacchanal Carnival - experiencing all things Caribbean. Attendees can start off the celebration on Friday at the Rendezvous Haitian Restaurant for a White Party. Then, on Saturday, beginning at 11AM, watch the parade followed by a carnival from noon to 6:30PM. The concert is set to start at 11PM featuring Farmer Nappy and Band and other artists such as DJ Ray, Madd Colors Carnival Band, and others and end at 3AM. Early bird tickets for the concert are $50, general admission $60, and at the door $75.

The Ozone Songwriter Festival

Over three days, four stages, and 100+ performers from 11 states, The Ozone Songwriter Festival takes place in historic Mandeville - giving a stage to singer-songwriters who are searching for a chance to show off their talent. The Ozone Songwriter is free - however, some events require tickets or registration. All donations are used to educate young people on self-expression through music and teach different ways to make future careers in the music business.  Registration is still open to compete in the songwriter competition.

The Louisiana Bayou King Festival is Louisiana’s premier tribute festival to the one and only King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. This four-day festival provides nonstop entertainment as eight Elvis tribute artists perform nine Elvis concerts. But wait, the fun doesn’t stop there - there will also be an Elvis tribute contest with 10 to 20 contestants, an Elvis tribute meet & greet, as well as Let the Good Times late-night after parties and exclusive events with limited tickets being sold. Day passes and various festival packages are on sale - ranging from $169 to $400.

Watch Louis Armstrong Park light up with hundreds of floating lanterns as you make memories with friends, family and neighbors at the New Orleans Water Lantern Festival. Adult tickets include wristbands for entry and access to food trucks, individual floating lantern kit, LED candle, commemorative drawstring bag, marker, and lantern retrieval and water clean up. Several ticket options are available - ranging from general adult tickets, deluxe tickets, date night special, and youth tickets.

Get ready to add a touch of New Orleans magic to your holiday season with Celebration in the Oaks - an event that has warmed hearts since the 1980s. The iconic City Park is festooned with lights and decorations, making it a nocturnal wonderland through which you can walk, drive or cycle and also enjoy its rides, including the gorgeous carousel that's the centerpiece of the celebration. More than just a dazzling spectacle, this event helps support City Park's upkeep. Driving tours start at a special discounted rate of $25 for specific days, or you can take a leisurely stroll on the walking tour for $35. If you want to bike through, your ticket is only $5.

It doesn’t get more “New Orleans” than brass bands and gumbo! Celebrate the NOLA heritage at the Tremé Creole Gumbo Festival. There will be live brass band performances and some of the best gumbo dishes you will ever find in the world. There will also be local artists selling their crafts. This event is free and open to the public.

Spirits-The Cocktail and Ghost Crawl
This is no ordinary pub crawl. Enjoy spirits with your spirits, as you hear ghost stories, city history, and tales of voodoo. The two-hour tour provides a storytelling guide who'll usher you through well-researched historical and haunted locations between stops at the bars. Fun for groups, and you are not required to buy anything. Tickets are $30 per person.

The Happy Raptor Distillery is New Orlean’s newest. When you visit, you’ll learn how your rum travels from the sugarcane fields of Louisiana to the copper still in-house. We’ll show you the unique Caribbean-style processes involved in the creation of 504Rum that are rare to find in the United States. The combined tour and tasting lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes one pre-batch cocktail (distiller’s choice), a free tasting of all 504Rum products. Tours are $15 per person, and you can schedule a tour for yourself or a group.
