September is one of the most popular times to visit Dallas. While it is hot in the day, the evening and nights are pleasantly cool, making it an ideal time to step out on the town. Get out on the town in Deep Ellum or shop in the high-end malls of Highland Park. Dallas has everything a traveler could ask for and more. Anime Escape Festival is the first two-day outdoor event celebrating Japanese pop culture.  Dress up in your best cosplay and attend panels, watch your favorite anime films, play vintage arcade games, and dig into a variety of Japanese-inspired dishes and desserts.  Tickets start at $45.

Dallas Chocolate Festival

Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, black chocolate, ruby chocolate - chocolate lovers can find every variety at the Dallas Chocolate Festival.  Meet famous chocolatiers and try their confections, learn more about the chocolate-making process, and pick up a few new recipes to try yourself at home.  The event is enough to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Dallas Observer Brewfest

Try brews from local and international breweries at the Dallas Observer Brewfest.  A DJ will be pumping hits while you wander from booth to booth sampling classic and unique beer flavors, from light ales to blackberry lagers.  When you need a break, check out the art gallery, play some beer pong, and grab a bite to eat from one of the restaurants touting their amazing menus.  Tickets start at $42.  All attendees must be over 21 years of age.

Be German for a day at Addison Oktoberfest.  Cheer on your favorite pup in the Dachshund Dash, dance the polka to live music, eat some weinerschnitzel, and of course, drink all the beer.  With games, performances, and plenty of drinks, it's a fun event to celebrate the arrival of fall.

With a complete auto show, the State Fair Classic college football game, live music by artists from all over the state and national acts, and uniquely Texas food offerings, the State Fair of Texas is as big as the state it celebrates. The ZestFest - Hot Sauce and Music Festival

The ZestFest - Hot Sauce and Music Festival

Hot sauce lovers and music lovers of Texas unite at this unique, fun festival. One of the largest culinary events in the country, this three-day festival features live music performances, cooking exhibitions from famous chefs, and lots of food and spicy products for purchase. Performances from musicians and celebrity hot sauce makers, including Eddie Deen and Jon Bonnell, will be held on Saturday and Sunday nights from 6:00 pm until midnight. There will also be a wing-eating contest hosted by Wingstop, a fiery food challenge, a jalapeño eating contest, and a pig roast. Stay tuned for ticket sales.
