November is a particularly enjoyable month in Chicago. Temperatures start to get cooler, making the outdoor air crisp and refreshing. The city begins to light up in holiday cheer, lots of sales are happening, and if you're in town the day of Thanksgiving, lots of restaurants will be open and offering pre-fixe menus and specials for a memorable dinner experience.

Magnificent Mile Lights Festival

Chicago's iconic Magnificent Mile Lights Festival returns this year to bring in the holiday season. Lights and holiday decorations will light up the famous Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago (the stretch of Michigan Avenue between Wacker Drive and Oak Street), while world-famous musicians will perform into the night. The crowd can also enjoy fireworks and the annual tree-lighting ceremony. The festival has been Chicago's most memorable holiday tradition for 31 years, free and open to the public.

The Trilogy Tour: Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin & Pitbull

Three of the biggest names in Latin music are teaming up for a massive world tour. Enjoy the smooth charm of Enrique Iglesia, the dance pop of Ricky Martin and the Miami-born rapping of Pitbull all in one show. This may be your only chance to see all three icons in the same night. You'll be "Living la Vida Loca" all night long.

Festival of Wood & Barrel-Aged Beer

North America’s largest barrel-aged festival and competition, The Festival of Wood Barrel-Aged Beer, is back. Hosted by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild (ICBG), FoBAB is a celebration of the artistry and expertise in barrel-aged brewing, offering beers, meads, ciders, and perries across 12 style categories. There are also lower alcohol content options available. Drink beer and feel good as the ICBG supports good causes through the event. General admission tickets start at $85 per day.

Russell Peters: Act Your Age World Tour

If specials like "Notorious" and "Outsourced" ring a bell, then you might be familiar with Russell Peters. He's a hilarious comedian who will be performing live at the Rosemont Theatre in the Chicago area on November 4th via his "Act Your Age" comedy tour. The show will address themes of cancel culture, growing up as an Indian, and getting older, among others, which are things that many of his fans can relate to. So if you're a fan of Russell Peters, don't miss his upcoming show in Rosemont, IL. Tickets are currently available.

More than a million lights illuminate Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo in one of the city's greatest holiday traditions - ZooLights. As guests take in the lights throughout the zoo, they can also visit many of the animal exhibits that stay open into the night. Arts, crafts, and many more holiday-themed activities scatter the zoo in a unique and breathtaking nocturnal setting. Tickets for Zoolights can be bought online, and Monday is a free-entry day. An online reservation is still required, nonetheless, even on free-entry days. There are special shows on specific nights, including opening night and New Year's Eve.

Let It Shine

Let It Shine

The annual Let it Shine light show is sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Hop in a car to see a drive-through display of over 1 million synchronized lights, all twinkling to classic holiday songs. One ticket per vehicle is required, and the lights are on from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are between $30 and $40 and are valid for a specific time slot, which you can change up to 48 hours in advance in case you have to reschedule your visit.
