Maryland Irish Festival

Live bands, poetry readings, and an open mic stage await you, as well as a variety of vendors who specialize in Irish-inspired crafts. If you're feeling competitive, you can also try your luck at the event's photography and limerick contests, where you can show off your creativity to fellow Irish enthusiasts. The schedule varies for this three-day event, but plan to be there all day, especially on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range from $13 to $28, which you can purchase here.

Annual Parade of Trabants

The seventeenth annual Parade of Trabants showcases some of the most outstanding of these famous "cardboard" cars along with other vintage Cold War vehicles, including vans, scooters, and cycles. You can chat with the owners about how they maintain these unique and rare vehicles and ask experts for anecdotes about the Cold War, Communism, and the historical significance of these cars. Try your hand at Berlin-style graffiti and experience a day of nostalgia against the background music of the Alte Kameraden German Band. Admission is free.
