What better way to celebrate the magic of New Year's Eve than by feasting your eyes on the Magic Duel at the Mayflower Hotel? From 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, you'll watch two sleight-of-hand experts dazzle you with comedic magic tricks. The "Golden Wand" and the DC's Best Magician title are at stake for the evening, so don't forget to vote for your favorite magician. Magic shows also pair well with drinks, the latter of which can be purchased at the lobby bar in the hotel. Past acts have included card tricks, disappearing acts, and flames. Tickets are $55 for premium seating and $80 for VIP seating.

The New Year's Eve Gala at the luxurious Willard is an opulent way to bring in 2024 at a historic venue with a two-century legacy. A night of endless champagne with an open bar, a mesmerizing balloon drop at the stroke of midnight, and non-stop dancing to live bands and DJs awaits. You get the option between a VIP 3-course meal with champagne or an international dinner buffet, and everyone wraps up the night with exquisite desserts crafted by the Willard pastry chef. The dress code is elegant cocktail attire, or you can let down your hair with the Black Tie optional look, and entry to the Gala starts at $145.

Step into the Roaring Twenties at the Capital Gatsby NYE Gala in Washington, DC, from 9 PM to 2 AM. Hosted at the HQO, DC Water’s new headquarters in Navy Yard, this black-tie affair offers an immersive Gatsby-inspired experience. DJ Vicious, DJ Q, and DJ LS will set the rhythm, with VIP ticket holders having exclusive access to the rooftop until 11 PM. Don your finest 1920s attire and be part of the vintage party. The National Mall hosts a patriotic fireworks display with the Washington Monument and other historic sights as the backdrop. The show begins early at 9 p.m., making it a family-friendly celebration. Watch for free on the National Mall grounds (with transportation on the Metro system recommended) or from various locations along the Potomac River. You can also venture outside the city for celebrations in surrounding destinations like Alexandria, Annapolis, Baltimore, Winchester and Williamsburg, which all have their own fireworks to ring in 2024.

Ring in 2024 with an unforgettable New Year's Eve bash at THRōW Social DC, one of the biggest celebrations in the DMV. This 21-and-over event runs from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. with live music and DJs. General admission tickets are priced at $100 per person, which includes a well open bar (with $5 specialty cocktails) until 9 p.m., hors d'oeuvres, a breakfast buffet 12:30-2 a.m., party favors (while supplies last), and a champagne toast at midnight. Upgrade packages range from $500 to for large parties. The night’s highlights include a balloon drop, confetti, sparkler cannons and $20 axe throwing at Kick Axe DC downstairs.
