Bring an Umbrella for a Visit to Seattle this January

Known for the Space Needle, gorgeous hiking trails, and grunge music, the city offers plenty to do in January. Museums are your best bet (like the Seattle Pinball Museum), theater shows and the Woodland Park Zoo. If "adventure" is your middle name, head to Leavenworth for fun in the snow or take a ferry to the San Juan Islands (you might even see some orcas).

Polar Bear Plunge at Matthews Beach

If you are in Seattle on New Year's Day, you won't want to miss this annual tradition. Participants will run into the frigid waters to show their bravery and celebrate the new year. Costumes are encouraged; if you do participate, remember to bring an extra set of warm clothes. Warming refreshments will be served, including coffee, cocoa, and hot tang after what is known as the Seattle Polar Bear Plunge. Expect activities and fun leading up to the plunge, which will be at noon sharp.

Experience the magic of 'Wonderland', a carnival of winter wonder, while enjoying a delicious meal featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients and winter cocktails. Dancers will entertain with varying moves and tricks, even swinging from the chandeliers in a fun, over-the-top spectacle that you will talk about for weeks. Tickets range from $69 to $195 and offer various seating and dining options. Guests must be over 21 years of age and carry identification with proof of age. Paid parking is available in the Pike Market parking garage.

Monster Jam

Get your adrenaline pumping by checking out this high-action event while in Seattle. Watch as Monster Jam trucks, which are all 10 ft tall and 12,000 pounds, participate in racing, donut, and freestyle competitions. Being a 3-day event, you have plenty of opportunities to catch the action. Tickets start by $25 for a single-day ticket, and they can be purchased here.

Bring your friends and family to experience Washington's Winter Wonderland at Lake Chelan Winterfest 2024 this January. From wine and ale tastings to horse-drawn carriage rides, fascinating ice sculptures, a famous ice bar and live music for all ages, you can indulge in several experiences amidst the snow-capped mountains and icy waters. Seattle Boat Show

Check out the 76th annual Seattle Boat Show. It will feature new and unique boating models, vendors, seminars, networking opportunities, and themed attractions, such as "Dog on Deck" and an "Uncorked" fine wine night.
