Speakeasy at Bourbon and Branch

Speakeasy at Bourbon and Branch
Located a few blocks from Union Square, amid the Tenderloin, is a small speakeasy called Bourbon and Branch. Having operated continuously since the mid-1800s and surviving Prohibition, Bourbon and Branch retains its old-school vibe. While it requires knowing a password to enter or having a reservation, do not let that dissuade you. The lovingly crafted cocktails make the extra steps worth it.

Pier 39

Pier 39
Located on the northern side of the city and overlooking Alcatraz, Pier 39 is a place to spend an entire day if you felt so inclined. Sea lions line the pier, with restaurants, shops, and cafes occupying most of the pier. Popular places include Crabcakes and Sweets, Chowders, and the Candy Baron candy shop.
