Friends\' Fest

City Park in New Orleans is a 1,300-acre utopia filled with beautiful greenery, museums, an amusement park, a serene lake, and more. Park organizers rely on membership fees and donations for park upkeep and will host their annual Friends' Fest to show their appreciation to members. The event will feature crafts and activities, interactive experiences, rides at the amusement park, and complimentary food and beverages, along with additional options available. The theme is the 1960s, so come dressed in your best costume. A City Park membership fee is $75; registration is open online. 

New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE)

New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE)

New Orleans Wine and Food Experience is an annual celebration. This will be the 31st anniversary of NOWFE uniting gourmands and oenophiles in a vibrant, historic setting. NOWFE highlights the city's culinary heritage and features unique wines and dining experiences at establishments like Emeril's, Bywater American Bistro, and Justine. Seminars and intimate wine dinners make the event a must. Don't miss the "Royal Street Stroll" street party; this is where the most fun is had. This event is only for ages 21 and over. Tasting, connoisseur, and VIP packages range from $75-$215.

New Orleans Pride Weekend

New Orleans Pride Weekend is set to be one of the most vibrant celebrations of LGBTQIA+ culture and unity. Taking place from June 9th to June 11th, the weekend includes a packed schedule of events that will rally locals and visitors alike. Prominent parades include community-wide strolls across Bourbon Street, people donning colorful costumes adorned with artful face-paint designs showing excitement about LGBTIQ rights while embracing harmonious inclusion amidst continual diversity. Social events range from welcomingly festive drag shows to boisterous late-night circuit parties offering heart-pounding dancing experiences.

Some of this year’s musical lineup includes artists such as Lil Nathan & the Zydeco Big Timers and Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Krush. The Showcase Comic Con is right around the corner on June 24th and 25th at the downtown Louisiana Convention Center. Essence Music Festival returns live for its 28th anniversary to bring a weekend of live music, lectures, celebrity Q and As, vendors, and more. Visit The National WWII Museum

Visit The National WWII Museum
With summer making it difficult to stay outdoors for too long of a time, visiting The National WWII Museum is a perfect pastime to get your mind off the heat! Located just a mile away from the French Quarter, this museum has been designated as America’s official WWII museum. It’s full of images and artifacts that encompass the American spirit and bravery of our veterans. Prices are $28 for adults, but if you bring your college ID or military ID, you’ll get a $10 discount. WWII veterans get in for free.

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas
You can find 15,000 sea creatures at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, and it’s one of a kind in the nation. They have a seahorse gallery and a shark touch pool, so you could get a chance to pet a baby shark. They also have a collection of rare and endangered species, like white alligators. It’s best to plan a couple of hours to spend here, and there’s a cafe that offers food and drinks to keep you energized. They’re open at 10 a.m., Tuesday until Sunday only. Tickets start at $29.95 for adults, but if you order online, you can save $3.
